It’s not cancer

I am numb with relief.

In the end, after all the testing, after all the discussing, they do not think it is cancer.

The tumour is benign but aggressive.  More aggressive than they expect to see in a benign tumour.

But they think it is benign nonetheless.

It has penetrated the soft tissue and has areas of fast growth.  If untreated, there are indications it could turn malignant.

But they are treating it aggressively with resection.

I have time.

I have so much time.

It is an amazing thing.

The details will come later.  For the moment, I want to drink in the time, let the relief wash over me as the numbness abates.

  1. Fantastic… the bit about not having cancer!

And when you say…. “I want to drink” …. do you have a specific location in mind? Should I bring wine?

    Am smiling for you!!

The waiting was torment; the worst I think I’ve witnessed. Now bathe in the warmth of relief, and breathe. I think you’ve been holding your breath. We’ve all been holding our breath. Relax, breathe, and savour how good this is. Hold that baby girl and know you will be there for her for a long, long time.

Collective breath holding, positive thoughts, well wishing, and prayers do work after all. Excellent news. A hard road ahead but you will make it. More good thoughts for you and yours.

If I feel like a weight has been lifted from my chest, I can only imagine how you and your little family are feeling. Today Mick bought me flowers for the anniversary of my 24-hour labour, but now every time I look at them I will be thinking of you.
